Nikken Space Design Osaka Office

Nikken Space Design Osaka Office

This is a technology development hub which gathers together approximately 700 R & D engineers from the 3 hubs in Japan and concentrates knowledge from both within the company and outside it as a platform for true collaborative activities that overcome the walls between departments. For extreme flexibility, the office consists of 2 mega-floors of approximately 3,000 m2 each, forming a place for discussions between researchers with the waigaya (free discussion) central skip floor as the core of company collaboration. The lower office floor has the "Knowledge Forest" as a place for external collaboration, and the top floor is the "Future Lab", which consists of a studio for substantive discussions toward innovations for society and fellow rooms where researchers from universities, other companies, etc. can stay. In addition, Daikin's newest technologies are incorporated everywhere to implement overwhelming energy conservation, and equipment systems are constructed with the aim of achieving ZEB (Zero Energy Building) for the office area. It provides both high-level environmental performance and workplace comfort, and it received Platinum Certification for LEED-NC (New Construction), the global environmental performance index.
