Nikken Sekkei Hanoi Office

A design office should have multiple identities. It is a place to work, of course. It is a place for discussion, for coming together for a shared purpose, for building models, for spreading out huge diagrams and drawings for all to see. We associate these multiple identities, the way things push together and drift apart, with a Vietnamese waterborne market, as boats floating along a riverside landing, a scene of vitality and activity and goods piled high. We shape tables like boats, some big, some small, some near, some far, as if jostling on a river, framed by the wooden facades of a town along its banks.
