Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation East Tower

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation East Tower is a 150-meter-high skyscraper, which lies on the opposite side of Hibiya Dori at Otemachi intersection across from the head office building constructed in 2010. These two buildings, eastern and western, bear the functions of the headquarters. With the same design concept of a “tradition, innovation, authenticity” for the interior and exterior, functions rid of ornamentation and a design that takes full advantage of raw materials were sought. A sense of high quality fitting for the headquarters of a megabank that is developing globally was achieved. This project to construct the head office building until completion of the East Tower took eight years.
