“The Lions” at Nakano Sakaue

This five-story low-rise condominium of 43 d units is located five minutes’ walk from Nakano Sakaue station on the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi line. Despite a flat approach from the station, it stands in an upscale residential district atop a hill commanding a view of the skyscrapers of Tokyo’s Shinjuku subcenter. In the early years of the twentieth century, this historic district was the location of a villa of Prince Fushimi, a member of the imperial family. The condominium exterior evokes the image of a mass floating in the breeze from the heart of the city. The design features an open approach and a waterscape in its inner courtyard, creating a relaxed, soothing space for its residents.
